VAL-D’OR HOSTS THE QUÉBEC MINING ASSOCIATION'S MAINTENANCE SEMINAR
04/04/2017
Québec City, April 4, 2017 – The maintenance seminar organized by the Québec Mining Association (QMA) brought together 130 people to listen to presentations and discuss various topics of current interest in the mining industry, such as technology, the maintenance of fixed and mobile equipment, and underground communications.
The maintenance seminar reflects the mission of the Québec Mining Association to promote, support and proactively develop a responsible, committed and innovative Quebec mining industry. "After a gap of several years, the QMA has re-launched the seminar to give members an opportunity to share their success stories with the industry as a whole, and to discuss best practices. The objective is to give mining companies the tools they need to improve their efficiency and productivity while reducing accident risks and costs, thereby ensuring the long-term viability of their operations," says Josée Méthot, the QMA's president and CEO.
Technology in the mining sector continues to evolve, making it important for companies to come together and discuss it. "It is important for the Québec Mining Association to create opportunities for members and mining industry representatives to share information. The seminar offers many ways to gather information and leave with a range of new ideas that can be implemented to improve working methods," Ms. Méthot concludes.
